A Simple Plan: Cars

Some Facts about High speed Limits and Car Accidents

The 2014 statistics revealed that quite some people died in car accidents or after that due to injuries from car accidents in the US. Failure to use the seatbelts, careless driving, speeding, and bad weather, are some of the reasons there are many car crashes in the US. The rate of the car crash in the US has gone very high, and still, many people lose their lives in the wreckage.

Sources have it that 28 percent of the total wreckage reported in the US are linked with speeding. Despite the strict rules and regulations made to reduce the rate of car accidents, still many people continue to get injured on the roads. Since 2005, it had been proven that speeding is one of the factors that continue to make many people die before their time. Many people normally speed when they are trying to escape from bad weather conditions, or when they are trying to catch up with time when they are late for work.

To keep drivers within the certain speed limit, road signs are normally strategically placed on the roads to aid in controlling the rate of car crashes in the US. Surprisingly, they rarely pay attention to such cautions, and they end up causing fatal accidents leading to increased number of people that die on the road. It cannot be claimed that the poor roads are the major cause of accidents in the US since the Government has always attempted to ensure that all main roads are in good condition and that they are kept that way.

As a matter of fact, more than 35 percent of the fatal accidents took place on roads which are not highways. This one implies that there is the tendency by the vehicle owners to over speed in areas that they are not being monitored by the traffic police. On the other hand, only 29 percent of gross car crash happened on the highways. It is due to the availability of strict surveillance of main roads that the drivers tend to pay attention to the speed limits.

Though speeding is one way through which car accidents today occur, this might be only partially correct. When driving in low speed, some vehicles lead to accidents along the highways leading to serious injuries and even death among the road users. Reliable sources reported that 9,262 lives were lost due to vehicles moving slowly on the highway. It is, therefore, safe to conclude that as much as speeding is a cause of many deaths in the US, moving slowly along the highways have contributed to quite some car crashes that ended up claiming many lives.
